What are Mentor breast implants?

Mentor offers three different FDA-approved types of breast implants that are used for breast augmentation or reconstruction: MemoryShape, MemoryGel, and saline. Each comes in a variety of sizes, projections (how far forward and wide they protrude from the chest), and materials (textured or smooth), to accommodate patients’ body proportions and desired results. Mentor MemoryShape and MemoryGel implants are recommended for augmentation patients who are at least 22 years old, while the saline-filled implants are indicated for patients who are at least 18 years old.

MemoryShape breast implants have a gel formula and teardrop shape (thin at the top and gently sloping down to a fuller base) meant to mimic a natural shape and youthful, firm appearance.

MemoryGel and MemoryGel Xtra breast implants are made with cohesive silicone gel and resemble the natural form, feel, and texture of a woman’s breast tissue. Depending on the size and shape you’re looking for, this form of breast implant has six different projection options (classic, moderate plus, high profile, ultra-high profile, Xtra moderate, and Xtra high profile) to choose from.

Saline-filled breast implants have a slightly firmer feel than gel-based implants. They’re available in three projections (moderate, moderate plus, and high profile). The sterile saltwater solution is meant to complement the natural fluids found in the body and can be made to look round or teardrop-shaped.
